National Middle East and North Africa Collection digital

The Universitaets- und Landesbiblithek Sachsen-Anhalt, Halle (Germany) (ULB Halle) – holding responsibility for the National Middle East and North Africa Collection, has started digitization of 3050 volumes of literature relevant for research on the region. The project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Titles selected for digitization include free of copyright materials from the Library of the German Oriental Society (Deutsche Morgenländische Gesellschaft) and also more recent copyright materials for which publishers have granted permission to digitize. Title suggestions

The Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Sachsen-Anhalt (ULB Halle) maintains the digitization project as a module of its national Middle East and North Africa collection (Sondersammelgebiet Vorderer Orient einschliesslich Nordafrika) and the Middle East Virtual Library MENALIB and the fulltext repository MENAdoc. Technical concept and support for the project are provided by semantics GmbH in collaboration with Walter Nagel GmbH & Co KG and Mikro Univers GmbH.
